In my last blog I wrote about the discussions I had with friends about domains with pagerank and whether it really just was an electronic way of using “word-of-mouth” or an algorithm that can easily be manipulated. While it is possible to manipulate the algorithm, it is also possible to manipulate “word-of-mouth” and it always has. People have different reasons for recommending something to us; some very legitimate others maybe not so. Various marketing campaigns will often provide you incentive to recommend something to a friend and then give you a gift or bonus etc. if they join. Others recommend something based on a family relation or as a favor to a friend. We just have to face that everything can be manipulated and you have to use your own common sense in evaluating it, be it a personal recommendation or something written on a website.

I am reading this on a website that a found today “winter tyres and tyres are our specialty – ask us anything about car rims” that sounds great to me because I have a lot of questions and I hope that they have the time to answer them all. I want to find some cool looking rims to my car and I think that this website has a lot of rims to choose from. I do not buy much online because I prefer to know exactly what I am buying and that is hard to know when you are buying things online. That is why I have so many questions about their products. One thing that I will never buy online again is clothes because I always have to send the clothes back when I buy them online. You have to try them on before you buy clothes.
